Apple in a bid to take its employees healthcare into its own hands, is launching its own medical clinics “AC Wellness.” The company plans to offer the “world’s best health care experience” to workers, it seems to be following similar news about Amazon’s venture with Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway. It published a website for the venture with a careers page seeking primary care doctors, nurses, an exercise coach, care navigator and on-site lab test personnel, this was done quietly.
The plan is to build two “multiple, stunning state-of-the-art medical centres” in Santa Clar. One inside its “spaceship” Apple Park headquarters and the other just north of its Cupertino HQ.
According to CNBC, several employees who formerly worked at Stanford Health Care have already started working for AC Wellness.
Apple has gone heavily already into the health industry through its Apple watch health tracking, and creating its Healthkit and Researchkit platform, to assist Researchers and doctors in tracking employee and patient health. Based on these, it said it will provide a “unique concierge-like healthcare experience enabled by technology.”
Aside providing all the medical staff, Apple is also going to be focusing on prevention, through diet and exercise programs for employees. So it is looking for “designers” who will arrange programs aimed at promoting healthy living. I so want to work for Apple right now.
Currently, Apple has more than 120,000 employees and this company happens to be among the top-spending companies when it comes to healthcare. It will save alot of money because per-patient US medical spending tops every other nation in the world by a lot. And not many companies have the means to own their own private medical system, So you see why the first two are from Amazon and Apple right?
