Fact remains, that most times when a lady shops, her boyfriend or husband usually get bored, but then, why wouldn’t he? We all know that ladies take lots of time in the shopping mall, right? In an attempt to keep their partners busy, a mall in China installed gaming pods for husbands to wait while their wives shop.
According to a report from Chinese publication The Paper, gaming pods were installed at the Global Harbour Mall in Shanghai. These pods are completely see through and comes equipped with a TV screen, a keyboard and game console, giving individuals access to a variety of games for free. The pods’ official name is ‘Private Lounge’ and they can be reserved through QR codes. Users can also watch TV programmes or listening to music.
For now this service is free, but not for too long, soon users will be charged for using it. There will be a QR code that users can scan and a small sum for using the service will be deducted. Although It is specifically designed for male users who are going shopping with their partners, this service can be used by anyone, so in situations where the lady get’s bored as the husband shops (trust me, this is unlikely) she can actually use the pod.
What do you think of this?
boredom is an emotional or psychological state experienced when an individual is left without anything in particular to do, is not interested in his or her surroundings, or feels that a day or period is dull or tedious. It is also understood by scholars as a modern phenomenon which has a cultural dimension. “There is no universally accepted definition of boredom. But whatever it is, researchers argue, it is not simply another name for depression or apathy. It seems to be a specific mental state that people find unpleasant—a lack of stimulation that leaves them craving relief, with a host of behavioural, medical and social consequences.
