Who’s watching the match and what do you guys think? Who will win – man or machine?

Match one already done and machine leads man (sad face). Aren’t we smart enough!

What do you expect? An AI system as advanced as the AlphaGo can predict moves, apart from that they’ve gone through series, if not millions of self training. let’s see how the challenge goes, Lee Sedol needs to throw every move he has on the table in the next match!

Notwithstanding, the system (AlphaGo) cannot be perfect. Mr. Lee Sedol needs to throw in all he’s got, that took him to the top and exploit its weaknesses to his advantage. But am sure that would take him more than two matches to figure that out. On the otherhand, am sure Alan Turing would be smiling wherever he is right now, cos his theory wasn’t wrong after all!

    Not surprised again!

AlphaGo algorithm uses a combination of machine learning and tree search technique combined with extensive training from human and computer play.

It uses a neural network which was bootstrapped from human game-play expertise. In otherwords, that system was designed to mimic previous experts who have played the game probably before Lee Sedol was born. Tell me, how will Lee Sedol beat it when the system even know about his own moves? That system was built with about 500million moves in its database so, what’s Lee Sedol even doing wasting his time?

Guess what again. Machine win 3 times in a row now, at this point AI has secured it’s victory.
