HP has unveiled it’s latest laptop, the Spectre, a notebook computer with a 10.4 millimeter thickness (as thin as an AAA battery). According to HP; The thinnest laptop the world have ever seen.
According to Mike Nash, HP vice president of customer experience, the laptop is part of a broader HP strategy to position itself as an innovator and reinventor. “The expectations for quality are changing in the premium space,” He said. “People want a laptop less than four pounds, all day battery life, thinner design, and instant on. I don’t want to be constantly looking for a wall socket, and I don’t carry a power cord with me anymore. It’s almost a lifestyle change.”
The HP Spectre features a 13.3-inch diagonal HD screen with 300 NITS of brightness and 72-percent color gamut, the dsiplay is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 which is just 0.4 millimeters thick, the entire display assembly is 2 millimeters thick. The chassis is made of an anodized aluminum on the top and carbon fiber casing beneath. It also came equipped with Bang & Olufsen sound speakers and weighs 2.45 pounds. HP Spectre uses either Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors and features a new kind of cooling system which HP calls hyperbaric cooling. Rather than using fans on the heat-sink, HP created a hyperbaric chamber downstream from the processor. The keyboard has 1.3 millimeters of travel and it has a USB-C adapter for the power cord.
The laptop isn’t touchscreen maybe because research has shown that 79% of devices sold in 2015 didn’t have touchscreens. The new premium laptop ranges in price from $1,170 to $1,250. Ooooo.. least i forget it has a 9.45-hour battery life! Just not certain if i can watch movies for that long, as we all know intensive tasks such as watching movies seems to drain more battery life compared to menial tasks such as surfing the web.
