Meet LG Hub, the rival to Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home


Today, LG showed several consumer robots, one of which is the LG Hub. The LG Hub is a robot that can be controlled by your voice and is similar to Amazon’s Alexa but with more personality. The device features an animated face and swiveling to look at whoever it’s talking to. The LG Hub plays music, looks up weather and additionally it also acts as a command and control unit for several appliances.

During it’s presentation, LG showed the Hub controlling an autonomous lawn mower, preheating a connected oven and turning on a robotic vacuum. Apart from this consumer robot, LG showed off a larger version of the robot, the south korean company hopes to deploy this version in hotels and airports. The larger robots can move around, answer questions and also provide directions.

According to LG, this robot would be able to learn about their owners and even carryout conversations.
