Canary’s security cameras usually alerts you of movements in your home, they have however, been unable to specify who or what causes these movements. They can’t tell the difference between an intruder and your lovely pet playing.
For an upgrade, the company would be rolling out a new feature known as “Person Detection” to all Canary and Canary Flex cameras in no distant time for free. Now, you won’t have to be receiving so much notifications in an hour if you don’t want to.
The feature depends on “machine learning” to figure out whether your camera is seeing a human being, so that the system can send specific person alerts.
Canary hasn’t announced a release date yet but when it becomes available, you would be able to select what type of notifications that you’d like to be getting. You can choose to only receive notification when a person is detected or you can receive notification of any type of movement that occurs.
Person Detection according to the company, is just one of the new “AI powered intelligence” features that it’ll be launching in the future, and that more details would be revealed over the next few weeks.
A motion detector is a device that detects moving objects, particularly people. Such a device is often integrated as a component of a system that automatically performs a task or alerts a user of motion in an area. They form a vital component of security, automated lighting control, home control, energy efficiency, and other useful systems.
