Starting from March 11th the Samsung Gear S2 Classic 3G/4G will be on sale at AT&T, Verizon and T-mobile. The Gear S2 Classic features a 1.2″ 360 x 360 Super AMOLED display, a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM, a 300mAh Li-ion battery with wireless charging capabilities, 3G/4G connectivity and runs on Tizen OS. It also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, it’s IP68 certified for dust and water resistance and it comes with an accelerometer, a heart rate monitor, gyroscope, barometer and ambient light detection.
This smartwatch can be used even without connecting to a nearby smartphone. Users can track health and fitness, check notifications, listen to music, make and receive calls, read emails and make voice commands, all these happens right from your wrist without having to be paired to your phone.
By bringing together fashionable design and connected functionality, this smartwatch gives consumers the freedom to leave their phones behind while enjoying a stylish, classic design.
We are gradually moving to an era where physical SIM cards will not be used anymore. The Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G is the first device in the market to be equipped with an eSIM compliant to GSMA Consumer Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) architecture. eSIMs are programmable SIMs that lets users swap carriers without physically swapping SIM cards.

For now Carriers that feature the GSMA’s new standard include; Etisalat, EE, KDDI, NTT DOCOMO, Orange, Rogers, SFR, Sprint, Telefónica, Telenor, TeliaSonera, Telstra, TIM, Transatel, Verizon, Vodafone, AT&T, CK Hutchison, and Deutsche Telekom.
As from March the Samsung Gear S2 Classic 3G will be available, the eSIM specification will also be later announced for smartphones this year.
