Samsung app helps premature babies hear their mothers voice and heartbeat

It has been verified that at the early stages of child development the sound of a mother’s voice can be the key to a healthy brain development, what then is the fate of babies born premature?

Over 15 million babies are born prematurely, when this happens babies loose the nurturing sound of the womb, also premature babies have a higher risk of developing language and attention deficits. Mothers on the other hand face this with difficulty, some have even said “One of the hardest things i faced as a mom is not been able to hold my baby when he was first born”, as the baby is kept in the incubator, all the mom does is watch helplessly from a distance yearning and wanting to hold them.

Samsung wants to change this by Introducing the Voice of Life App, an app that uses a mothers voice and heartbeat to help a preemie brain grow and develop healthy. Voice of Life app captures a mothers heart beat, records words, stories, lullabies and then wombifies that sound (remove the high frequencies) for babies ears and then playbacks the recorded sounds via a speaker at the baby’s side.

This technology helps the mother be there with their babies virtually even when they cant be there physically and helps babies by providing the maternal sounds they need for healthy brain development. Now, even though millions of moms have to go home without their babies their voices and hearts doesn’t have to go, but remain with the ones they love.
