Following a recent update on my Android Device I couldn’t help but notice the new Google icon, it looked more beautiful and colorful, I knew something different had happened, quickly keyed in google.com on my browser and saw the new logo as well, I must say I was impressed, I had gotten so used to the old logo I felt it wasn’t ever going to change.
The new logo is written with a custom-designed geometric sans serif typeface, with colors blue, red, yellow and green (Same colors as the previous design). The idea behind the upgrade is to create a logo that can be produced and seen in smaller sizes than before, since today Google logo does not only appears on computer screens but also in several other devices and applications, including wearables, Google said, the new logo will be easier to read on small devices, and will complement the mobile-friendly “G” icon also.
This isn’t the first time we’ve changed our look and it probably won’t be the last, but we think today’s update is a great reflection of all the ways Google works for you across Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and many others. We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future. You’ll see the new design roll out across our products soon. Hope you enjoy it!
Google also stated in its Blog “it (new logo) doesn’t simply tell you that you’re using Google, but also shows you how Google is working for you. For example, new elements like a colorful Google mic help you identify & interact with Google whether you’re talking, tapping or typing. Meanwhile, we’re bidding adieu to the little blue “g” icon & replacing it with a four-color “G” that matches the logo.Google has always worked for me, from its Search engine, to its Gmail, Google+ and other services the company provides, though some might not notice the new logo just yet, this is because Google sometimes modify their logo to match current events. Thumbs up to the tech giant, you did give me a unique feel of the application.
