Apart from being able to place an order for meals, UberEATS app also includes menus from local restaurants which can be delivered in 10 minutes or even less. Users will also be able to track their food delivery so as to step out at the right time to meet their Uber courier. According to Uber, company drivers interested in delivering meals will receive earning opportunities at times of the day when fewer riders are out and about, drivers not interested will be able to opt out of UberEats.
Earlier on, Uber had tried food delivery service in Toronto, featuring a full menu and an expanded time frame of 10 in the morning till 10 at night, those tests relied on the Uber app to make food deliveries possible, the company having felt a dedicated app was needed made the new UberEATS app available starting today.
For those within locations where the service is supported, download the app for Android and iOS, others can still check out the app, but will have to wait for Uber to start the service in their various locations.
