This coming Thursday, March 8, is the ninety-ninth annual International Women’s Day. And In order to celebrate International Women’s Day 2018, tech giant, Google will feature content created by women on its Play Store.
In other words, starting this week, when you log into the Google Play Store, you’ll find collections of games and apps created by women from around the world. Additionally, you’ll also see movies, books, and TV shows that feature strong female protagonists.
Apps such as “On second thought” is an awesome text app that helps you undo text before they get to the other party and was co founded by Maxi Peterson, has won several awards. Zen Koi 2, an Android game with over a million installs, gives you the ability to raise Koi fish. Race for the Galaxy is an addictive board game-style app where players advance their empire by building advanced tech or settling planets.
Other apps such as Period Tracker Clue by CEO Ida Tin, helps women monitor their health will also be featured in the store with not only her app but also an interview where she’ll discuss how she got her start and the challenges she faced along the way.
Now how can we forget movies! 😁… Films like Wonder Woman will also be featured.
Additionally, some female YouTube creators will post videos telling personal stories on how they got into gaming. You can look up videos from CyberNova, an amazing youtuber with loads of subscribers who does amazing live streams, OMGItsFireFoxx, Gloom and Rosanna Pansino.
Google had used creative ways to celebrate women, earlier on the company created Change the Game, an initiative celebrating women who play games and promoting diversity in gaming culture and games themselves.
The world of media and entertainment are filled with terrific content created by women. As Google brings up content by women, you’ll eventually discover that most of the most innovative apps were created by women.
