It is time to say goodbye to 3G and 4G wireless networks and get ready to embrace the future as AT&T unveils its 5G roadmap to bring customers the next generation of super-fast flexible wireless connect. “Customers will see speeds measured in gigabits per second, not megabits,” AT&T said.
5G is the next generation of wireless data technology, it is expected to deliver speeds 10 – 100 times faster than today 4G LTE connections and speeds will be measured in gigabit per second, not megabit per second. For example, at one gigabit per second, you can download a TV show within 3 seconds. Latency, which is the amount of time it takes for a video to start streaming online will also be in the range of 1 to 5 milliseconds…. can it get better than this.
New experiences like virtual reality, self – driving cars, and even 4k videos are about to test network like never before. These technologies will be pervasive, immersive and responsive to customers and 5g will help them become reality
AT&T also said that “an early use of 5G’s underlying technology could be delivering broadband to homes and businesses” they also explained that “it’s possible that we could have limited commercial availability this year depending on the trials.”
Soon we would experience super-fast, wireless connectivity. Lets assume 5G networks will have significantly higher data caps than its predecessor.
